NFL: No Retirement But Peyton Manning Will Take $4 Million Pay Cut & Return to Denver Broncos

 

Despite two collapses in the playoffs the past two postseasons, Peyton Manning still plays really well during the season and isn’t ready to hang up his cleats just yet.  The record setting quarterback and future hall of famer is not retiring, he’s returning to the Denver Broncos.




The inevitable became reality on Wednesday as NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Manning will take a $4 million pay cut, per a source informed of his plans.

Manning will make $15 million in 2015, according to Rapoport. He was slated to make $19 million next season.

Now, the team can move forward at full speed, building the roster around a quarterback they know will be there. With the additional savings, they might even have the ability to add a little firepower on offense to negate the inevitable loss of Julius Thomas.
Manning will have to play with Broncos new head coach Gary Kubiak since the Broncos “agreed to part ways” with John Fox.
