Photos: Hernandez Prison Tattoo
The tattoo which reads "lifetime," apparently refers to the life sentence Hernandez received for the first-degree murder conviction in Lloyd's slaying.
While the Department of Corrections had no official comment, getting a tattoo in prison is against policy and punishable by disciplinary action.
"Being tattooed while incarcerated, tattooing another or possessing tattoo paraphernalia and/or body piercing," is a violation of the department's official rules.
At the time of a recent prison fight where Hernandez was acting as a lookout, prison officials discovered tattoos on Hernandez and that he had access to some sort of ink, a source told 5 Investigates.
The punishment, according to the department's manual, is a loss of privileges or extra duty. The department had no comment on any disciplinary action taken against Hernandez.
Assistant District Attorney Patrick Haggan says Hernandez shot friend Alexander Bradley in 2013 in Florida a night after Bradley made a remark about the 2012 double slaying in Boston. Bradley lost an eye in the shooting and is suing Hernandez in Florida.
Hernandez is accused of fatally shooting two men in a car on a Boston street over a spilled drink in a bar.
Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley had no comment on the new tattoo.
