50 Cent Says He Could Have Made Tidal More Exciting

50 Cent spoke about Tidal, claiming he could of made the music streaming service more exciting. Fif stopped by Los Angeles radio station REAL 92.3 to talk with Letty and DJ Damage during “The Realest” segment of their radio show. The G-Unit chief was asked about Jay Z’s streaming service and why he wasn’t apart of the recent movement. In response, Fif stated that no one reached out to him and had they done so, he and Hov “could have done something special.”

“They probably could’ve did something more exciting if they reached out, because the people you saw there don’t even own the rights to their music,” said 50 Cent.  ”So they can’t say it’s gonna come out of Tidal. It has to go everywhere. So why would you actually buy Tidal to get something that would be everywhere else?”
These artists include Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Madonna and many more, all of whom supported Jay at Tidal’s relaunch in March. 50 pointed out that he’s currently a “free agent,” who owns the rights to all of his music. Unlike many of the artists on Tidal, he has exclusive control of his catalog and that fact could have helped him to pull something off.  50 continued on to say that record companies will ultimately decide where the artists’ music goes and will try to maximize their profits rather than “just put it through Tidal as a service.”
