Hip Hop Single Sales: The Weeknd, Drake & Alessia Cara

After eight weeks at #1, The Weeknd’s single “In The Night” knocks Drake’s “Hotline Bling” off the top spot.

This week on the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart, The Weeknd’s “In The Night” knocks Drake’s “Hotline Bling” off the top spot. Elsewhere, Missy Elliott’s return single “WTF (Where They From)” climbs to #6 and lastly, Alessia Cara’s “Here” falls to #4.

The Weeknd Comes In At #1

A 47% increase in sales for The Weeknd’s “In The Night” means the single lands at #1 this week, overtaking Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” During the seven days leaving to December 17, the single sold 59,673 units taking its total since its official release to 174,317 copies.

Drake Slips To #2

After two months at #1, Drake’s “Hotline Bling” slips to #2 this week as a result of a surge in sales from The Weeknd. The cut experienced a slight 3% decrease in sales selling 50,789 units during the seven days leaving to December 17.

The Weeknd’s “The Hills” Expere

The Weeknd’s hit single “The Hills” again landed at #3 this week, selling 41,670 units during the seven days leaving to December 17. Since its official release, the single has sold 2,443,689 copies.
